Henry Cavendish was born on October 10, 1731 in Nice, France and died in February 24, 1810. His mother was Lady Anne Grey, daughter of the Duke on Kent, and his father was Lord Charles Cavendish, son of the second Duke of Devonshire.
It's the lightest element, with the lowest mass, and first on the Periodic Table.
At age 11, he was a pupil at Dr. Newcome's school in Hackney, then, at 18, he attended Cambridge University for four years, and lest without a degree and graduating.
Hydrogen was used as far back as 1671, before its recognition as an element, by Robert Boyle, when experimenting with iron and acids.
Acid and metals can react and create hydrogen.
He was a very quiet person, shy of strangers and women and he only spoke with his colleages.
It is the raw fuel of stars, which helps power and light them up.
Through inheritance, he was really wealthy, but didn't care for money.
It was officially recognized as an element by Henry Cavendish in 1766.
Cavendish first dubbed hydrogen "flammable air".
Cavendish had claimed to be "weighing" the Earth. He began in 1797, and then established in 1798 that the average density of the Earth is 5.48 times that of water.
It is described as the first modern science experiment from Cavendish's precision.
He is most well known for this experiment.
It is combined with Nitrogen to create Ammonia.
It is combined with Oxygen to make Water.
It is used as a coolant of rotors in electric generators.
In manufacturing, it is used, sometimes with Nitrogen, to detect leaks.
