Strengths:
Producing the phoneme /l/ in all word positions (initial, medial, final) at the sentence level continues to be a target for therapy.
J.P is a 7-year-old girl who is currently in the second grade at Morris Elementary School. She has been receiving speech and language services in her school since kindergarten. Her social and developmental history is not remarkable. J.P's parents are bilingual, and Spanish is sometimes spoken in the home. However, they identify J.P's primary language as English. J.P exhibits an articulation disorder characterized mainly by substituting 'y' for 'l' and saying 'yeg' for 'leg.' Prognosis for improvement of her misarticulations and her speech intelligibility is good considering her age, adequate language skills, and stimulability for most of the mispronounced sounds. Her annual IEP review is in December 2015.
Objective:
Given pictures or printed stimuli, J.P will correctly produce the phoneme /l/ in all word positions (initial, medial, final) at the sentence level with 80% accuracy.
Bingo Procedures
Provide the student with a bingo sheet.
From a pile of /l/ cards, the student chooses a word and says it in a sentence ten times.
Before drawing a bingo card, the student selects a word that she practiced and says it in a sentence five times.
After saying the word in a sentence five times, the SLPA or SLPA provides the student with a bingo chip and draws a bingo card out of the box.
Repeat the same procedures until the student gets a BINGO.
Data Collection
This data sheet is used to keep track of her correct and incorrect productions of /l/.
Useful in determining whether or not the student has met the criterion of 80% accuracy.
