Sub-classes

This is a team race.

Word Class- a group of words that fulfil the same kind of role.

You have 10 coins.

This is for the pride of being the first people to get work on the wall.

You have 20 minutes.

Example

From cosy B&Bs to quaint cottages, chic hotels to glamorous camping, you'll be spoilt for choice on where to stay.

Your coins can be used for:

30 seconds with the cheat sheet

1 question for Mr A

1 minute on the computer

Asking Mr A to check a part of your poster

You can also sell your ideas for coins from other teams.

Each coin not used will count as an extra vote for your poster.

  • You must create a poster about sub-classes.
  • You must ensure your poster has all subclasses organised accurately.
  • You must have a definition of all word classes on the poster.
  • You must have examples of the sub-classes.

Classify each word in red and describe its function in the sentence as a whole.

Hint: Consider connotations, not just denotations.
