My lesson PLAN:

Subject: Mechanical Desing

- Objectives:

  • Students will be able to speak only in English
  • Students will identify specific words related to their content
  • Students will be able to do research of commercial components
  • Students will demonstrate their knowledge about the subject by doing a 15' speech

- Support 2.0:

  • Training (Duolingo)
  • Vocabulary (Quizzlet)
  • Youtube tutorials (Solid Works)
  • Khan Videos (Mechanics)
  • Microsoft Excel training
  • Special Sheet

- Warm up:

  • Four months learning on their own + vocabulary learning.

Learning having fun!

- Intruct and model:

  • Two or three weeks doing the special sheet.
  • Free design using their mechanical knowledge.

- Guided practice and rubric evaluation:

  • Guide the design to be functional
  • Use of excel sheets to do calculus
  • The challenge of speaking in English

5. Understand information in English -technical documents, instructions, catalogs of products and / or services, technical form, reports, regulations, among others, and other professional usual activities.

Evaluation Criteria:

a) The student apply the technical docs information or regulations related professional area.

b) The student identify and select, quickly, relevant content about news, reports and regulations, on different professional terms .

c) The student analyzes in detail the specific information selected.

d) The student act accordingly by responding Technical receip through conventional media -postcard, fax or telematic access - e-mail, web.

e) The student select and extract relevant information in English according to requirements, to elaborate, in current language, comparative tasks, brief reports or short extracts.

f) The student is able to fill in English documentation and quizzes from professional usual field.

g) The student uses the media and technical translation tools.
