Each time a consumer initiates a transaction, the SE generates
a one-use code in lieu of transmitting the debit or credit card number. The SE chip manages & stores data separately from the rest of the phones components.
iPad Mini & iPad Air 2 both have Apple Pay for e-commerce transactions called ‘in app’ purchases as these devices have an SE chip. Neither device has an NFC chip so they are not capable of completing retail Apple Pay transactions.
FlexPoint easily integrates into any POS environment, can accept Apple Pay and provides your merchants added security with EMV!

Q: Is Pivotal ready to support Apple Pay?
Yes! Apple Pay released to the U.S. October 2014 and will release in
Canada in 2015. FlexPoint is Apple Pay ready and EMV compatible.
Q: Is Apple Pay secure for consumers?
Yes – for both retail and e-commerce transactions, Apple Pay utilizes
both Touch ID (fingerprint scan) & the SE (Secure Element) chip.
Q: Does Apple Pay have anything to do with EMV?
“Nope. EMV chip technology is popular around the world….With Apple
Pay, a unique device account number and a dynamic security code serve
as your credit card authorization. You get your goodies, and your bank
gets the transaction record, but no one ever sees your credit card,
eliminating the need for PINs or card swiping.”
