I would strongly admit this was my most hated activity of the entire camp due to the fact that I didn't had fun during the activities and since I was worried that my partner and I would capsize as both of us doesn't know how to swim. The next day, my arms we aching really badly too.
Woke up to freshen ourselves, and report outside the tent to move towards the dormitory for the 2nd night
LEFT FOR SEMBAWANG CAMPSITE @ 8.45AM
Highlight 4: Time for the campfire that is expected in every camp !
For this activities, you need strong arms and good sense of directions. We were taught beforehand on how to go in the direction we want in the sea and what happens if we capsizes
HAD BREAKFAST FOLLOWED BY AREA CLEANING THEN WE HAD OUR LOW ELEMENTS !
- low elements in order to succeed you need trust in your friends
PREPARATION FOR CAMPFIRE, ATE OUR DINNER THEN WENT TO SLEEP
We were given about 1 week to prepare a performance done by the entire class during the campfire. During some parts of camp, we were given time to rehearses too
We finally bid goodbye to our instructor who led us through the full 3 days and 2 night camp.
Highlight 1: After the low elements, it was finally my favourite part of the camp, the flying fox also known as zipline.
Highlight 3: After lunch, we had team building followed by changing into our wet attires, it was time for canoeing !
REACHED CAMPSITE AROUND 9 AND WENT TO SET UP TENTS
We sang the same song as 2B and some of them jeered at us as they think we copied their idea. However, I still think that no matter what, it was still a really good experience
This part of the camp was the most thrilling and a great way to get rid of your negative thoughts. How? First, you need the courage to jump down from the 3rd storey high where the zipline starts at and that's the most scariest part. After the jump, everything onwards will be worth the fear.
We had our breakfast followed by the last debrief from our instructors
I find this really challenging despite the fact that i was not as afraid of height anymore. You will find yourself grabbing the objects on the high elements really tightly without telling yourself to because of the fear you have in you. However, it was worth the try by the fact that it was pretty fun.
REACHED SCHOOL @ 0715
To be honest, I have a phobia for heights until I overcome the fear during my P5 camp when we did the high element. However, due to the length of time when i didn't do any high element activity, I had the phobia again. I was the first girl in my class to jump down the zipline. I was very afraid at first, i mustered up all my courage and finally took the step down and off I go on the zipline. It was really relaxing and my mind was cleared during that moment as i scream my way down. After this experience, I would like to try more thrilling activities such as Bungee Jumping as it seems really challenging to do because of the amount of courage one needs to have.
ATE OR LUNCH AND WENT TO SEMBAWANG PARK FOR THE SEMBAWANG CHALLENGE
It was finally the day every one waited and waited for ! We had to pack everything and wait outside the dormitories/ tents respectively
We had our debrief and went to bed for lights out
Highlight 2: This is the next element and activity I was really afraid of too as it involves heights. This is called the "High Elements"
For this element, it is slightly harder than the zipline. Unlike the zipline, this element requires courage till the end of the entire activity. For this element, one have to climb up a flight of "stairs" which was the hardest to me. This stairs lead you to different kind of elements such as ropes or ladders etc.
