The 5 tenets of Transcendentalism are still extremely prevalent today, especially in the thriving pop culture. Whether celebrities do this for attention or possibly money or rather for the true devotion to the Transcendentalist ideals is unknown. However, regardless of reason, Transcendental views are still alive and well today, and will continue to be for generations.
Transcendentalism is a movement originating from the mid 1800's that put an utmost importance in the individual and nature especially. Although this movement was considered 'modern' over 150 years ago, Transcendentalist themes and ideals are found commonly in songs, book, movies, television shows, advertisements, and in almost every other type of media.
James Cameron is one of 3 people that have ever been to the deepest point of the ocean, the Mariana Trench. While this doesn't necessarily make him a supporter of the environment, his following actions do. He made a Facebook post to announce how people all around the world could help protect and even save our oceans. He's giving people plans of action, instructions to save what he believes is of utmost importance; the ocean.

Angelina Jolie stood out from many by co-founding her own organization, the Jolie-Pitt organization, which was the first of its kind being made by a celebrity. The Jolie-Pitt organization aimed to help the efforts of eliminating absolute poverty throughout the world. Jolie has also traveled to these poverty ridden countries since 2001, visiting countries such as Pakistan, Sierra Leone, and Sri Lanka, which few celebrities have ever devoted so much time into helping this people.
