Life Cycle of A Cell Phone

How Does This Connect To Our C.E.T

- This connects to character education traits by how it shows caring how the workers at the companies manufacturing these phones at hard labor but still help out just to manufacture these phones for the public.

Who is this article about?

How I Feel About This Event

- This article isn't particularly about a specific person as it is a article about the life cycle of a cell phone.

- I feel sad for all the workers that go through hard labor to manufacture these electronics.

- I also feel concerned about the environment how the pollution of the lead and mercury and other dangerous minerals enter the environment and water sources

- Although this can also be directed to China workers as the majority of electronics are shipped off to landfills and the workers in china handle the material.

Hey I hope you were listening because it's TRIVIA TIME!

1. When was the first CELL PHONE invented

2. What are some dangerous materials from a cell phone that can go into the environment

Questions I still Have?

- If we have advanced technology why can't we manufacture phones without toxic materials in the hardware?

- How do manufacturing companies influence consumers into buying or upgrading there phone so easily when only there's minor upgrades.

Questions For The Class?

Life Cycle of A Cell Phone

Where is this article occurring

When did this take place?

- Why do you think cell phones are really expensive when cheap materials are used.

- Why do you think consumers are so easily pursued into buying or upgrading there phones.

- This article is occurring all over the world as the life cycle of a cell phone is occurring right as we speak as many cell phones around the world are being manufactured used and disposed

The brand new iPhone had been released in late September and your already ready to get a new one. What will happen once you throw it into the trash? Time we spend with your phone is just a part of their total life cycle. Cell phones are made of materials like glass, stainless steel, and plastic. While electronics circuits inside require rare minerals have to be mined from the earth. 90 percent of these minerals are mined from China and the process produces large amounts of toxic waste .Next cellphones companies manufacture products as cheaply as possible and still sold at high prices while employees have hard and long labor work. Many cell phones include lead, mercury and other toxic substances that can harm the environment if they are thrown in the garbage instead of being properly disposed.

They are then shipped of to landfills in China, where workers handle the materials. So the next time you are tempted to throw out your old phone remember all the time that went into the making of your phone and all the work of disposing it correctly.

- On March 10 1867 the phone had been in use.

- I also believe this event could of also possibly taken place on April 3 1973 the first mobile cell phone had been invented which does have more relevant to the article as it is the life cycle of a cellphone
