Most birds became extinct through a natural cause called "Archaeoptery". Some other birds went extinct by hunting. People kill birds for food, sport, or capturing them for pet trade. Pollution from the air, water, and the food source such as fish are other threats to birds.

The oldest known dinosaur was in the Triassic period, 230 million years ago. In 1969, Ostrom is a person who studied a dinosaur fossil in Montana, he said the dinosaurs' name would be Deinonychus. Several years later in 1973 Ostrom had a idea of a dinosaur called the Theropods they were called the ancestors of birds. About 35 million years ago, most of the modern birds had evolved. Among the groups were parrots, owls, crows, penguins, songbirds, and other related birds we know today.
Biology and Behavior
The wandering albatross fly's over the open ocean and likes to live far from land. It likes to eat fish, squids, and garbage. The albatross hardly flaps its wings because the wind carry's it because the bird is so small. Birds usually mate at a specific time of a year called the ''mating season.''
