All funded project activities must take place between
September 1, 2016, and August 31, 2017
Eligibility
Must be an arts activity conducted for the benefit of the public (for profit organizations are ineligible) and take place in the PPA Partner’s service region to which you are applying.

Request Amount
Grant requests may not exceed


The average grant last year was $1,400.
Panel Process
Reviewed on the established criteria; need is not a criteria
Panelists rotates from year to year – don’t rely on being well known
Application is the principle source of information for review
Application should be clear, complete and compelling
The responsibility for making a case rests entirely with the applicant
Applicants may receive little or no support if information is missing, incorrect or unclear.
Funds may Not Be Used For the Following
Capital expenditures, equipment costing $500 ;
Activities for which academic credit is given;
Activities that have already been completed;
Activities that have a religious purpose;
Performances and exhibitions not available to the general public;
Performances and exhibition outside Pennsylvania;
Cash prizes and awards;
Hospitality expenses, i.e., receptions, parties, gallery openings;
Lobbyists’ payments;
Competitions.

Activity Period
Monday, June 20, 2016
Arts projects conducted with or in venues owned and/or operated by organizations or programs the PCA already supports through the PPA Program Stream, AOAP Track or the Entry Track are eligible for support.
Arts projects not conducted with or in venues owned and/or operated by organizations or programs the PCA already supports through PPA Program Stream, Arts Organizations & Arts Program (AOAP) Track, or the Entry Track.
Project Stream applicants MAY apply for the following: Arts in Education Residencies; Preserving Diverse Cultures; and Professional Development and Consulting
Project Stream applicants MAY NOT apply within in the same grant period for: Program Stream; AOAP; or Entry Track.
The applicant if an individual, must be at least eighteen years old.
Matching Requirement
First and second time a grant is awarded PPA Project Stream recipients are not required to match the request amount.
Third time (and thereafter) recipients must show a 1:1 cash match of funds requested
PCA funds may not be used as match for other PCA funds.
$2,500
Funding Process
PPA Partner’s Board of Directors review the advisory panel’s recommendations prior to making their funding decisions.
PPA will notify the appropriate legislators before applicants
Award agreements with conditions, restrictions, and changes

Quality of the work represented by the work sample, support materials, and/or venue of activities (if applicable)
Quality of the project goals and measurable objectives that address the project goals. Project goals may include an artistic product (such as a performance, exhibition or other public event) or artistic process or service (such as classes, workshops, etc.)
Quality of the artist(s) and others principally responsible for the project
Efficacy plans to reach general public, including target audience
Ability of staff, volunteers and/or board to effectively manage and implement programming
Evidence of developing other support, such as business support, in-kind support, and shared services (if applicable)

Sept.-Oct., 2016 - Applicants are notified and grantees
are invited to attend award ceremonies

- Award agreements are due to PPA Partners.

Sept. 1, 2016 - Grant activity period begins.

Aug. 31, 2017 - Grant activity period ends.

Sept. 30, 2017 - Postmarked final report due date.
