A family of Dolphins

Adult dolphins

Baby dolphins

As an adult, a dolphin’s main purpose is to make more dolphins Males spend their time seeking out females in order to mate. Males have no care of the calves. After giving birth, a female’s main focus is raising her calf until it is old enough to take care of itself.

Baby dolphins are born tail-first to avoid drowning.

Nursing continues for as long as twelve to eighteen months. The baby grows very quickly on the mother’s milk, sometimes doubling in weight in 2 weeks.
