ICTs like a "flywheel" for Innovation but it's not itself the innovation

Interesting is to analyze the relation between use of the actual technologies and human approach specially in real application "on job" and in educational environments

ICTs and education benefit

big data

...exactly: What, How and where, (ex. application fields cases)

The Precision Agriculture and Decision Support System with the IoT (Internet of Things) means using of digitized physical sensor: devices, machines gateways, networks, connections in real-time: people to things and things to things. (see video clip)

Geographic Information Sistem

The ICTs are important tool for development and social change to supporting and to building capacities of farmer entrepreneurs, and young professionals.

The "IICD best practices", testify most of people live and work in remote rural areas (es) and, thanks to "ICTs", they have possibility to access to technical en economical information necessary for their job. ( see video clip)

...for academic environment it's convenient to develop "different knowledges"

(from http://tpack.org)

.. and continued

Ther typical uses of cloud computing (SaaS) to academics are:

- Personal workspace and and sharing group presentations (ex. Prezi)

- A convenient tools to engage of teaching and learning. (ex.. Google word)

- Provides opportunity for ubiquitous "CLOUD STORAGE" (ex. Dropbox)

- Creation a repository of information that stays with you and keeps growing as long as you want them. (ex. Evernote).

In particular for the Cloud computing

According to Michael King, IBM’s vice president of global education industry (Erenben, 2009):

... is ultimately going to enable a significant transformation of education to increase quality, access to educational resources, and at the same time lower costs . . ."

This technologies, (cloud computing models) if used well, will be useful tools to support to education and will deliver the value add to learning to new education community.

How and were do you can use it?

Types of Cloud Computing Services

Software as a Service- (SaaS): The applications are accessible from various client devices through either a thin client interface, such as a web browser (e.g., web-based email),

IoT for precision agriculture Research & innovation by GIS Youth, Agriculture and ICTs

economy

scalability

Platform as a Service (PaaS): Created or acquired applications created using programming languages, libraries, services, and tools supported by the provider

No up-front investment:

The Cloud computing uses a "pay-as you-go" priced model.

Using that, don't need to invest in the infrastructure before to start gaining benefit from. The user, simply rents resources from the cloud according to its own needs and pay for the usage.

Ubiquitous tech by cloud

Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS). networks, and other fundamental computing resources where the consumer is able to deploy and run arbitrary software, which can include operating systems and applications

storage

  • always
  • everywhere
  • with any device

no maintenance

Cloud Service Providers offer the renting the space (storage) or application (software), [without having]. There is no need to buy hardware and software licenses

security & privacy

cloud

The Resources in a cloud environment can be rapidly allocated and de-allocated on demand. No body else khow where is fisically situated
