Why am I a hero?
- Invented spray-on skin, a burns healing technique which saved many patients of burns
- Saved 25 out of 29 people injured in the Bali bombings in 2002
- Helped the 133 survivors of the 2007 Yogyakarta, Indonesia plane crash who were suffering from fearsome burns
- Treated 20 asylum-seekers after their boat exploded off the coast of Western Australia in 2002.

Dr Fiona Wood
- Born on the 2nd of February 1958
- Raised in Frickley, South Yorkshire
- Greatly interested in maths and physics as a child
- Parents ensured her a good education to lead up to a better life
- Successful in high school, attended St Thomas Hospital Medical School London
- Wanted to be a plastic surgeon after seeing a child scarred by hot and dangerous coffee
- Migrated to Australia in 1987
- Married Surgeon Tony Kierath
- Finished training at UWA
