There is only one major city in the Rio Grande Plain. That city is Laredo.

Although the Rio Grande Plain is mostly plains it has some rivers like the Guadalupe, San Antonio, Nueces, Lavaca, and Rio Grande.

There are some lakes dotting the region, as well as short-lived "resacas." A resaca is a former channel of the Rio Grande River that has been cut off. A small amount of hills valleys and mountains linger.
