Caristia was a ceremony to conclude the Parentalia festival. On Caristia families would gather together for a dinner and to remember their diseased relatives.
Parilia was at first a country festival to purify sheep and protect the flock. Later Parilia was a festival to celebrate the birth of Rome. All of the areas of Rome would hold their own small celebrations. One way the citizens would celebrate was by making massive bonfires and throwing random objects in as sacrifices. The festival ended with a massive outdoor feast.
Vestalia was a holiday where married women would go to the temple of Vesta with gifts and food to give to her. On Vestalia the Vestal Virgins made bread loaves as offering to the goddess.

Parentalia was a ceremony to honor dead parents. During Parentalia Romans would visit the cemeteries outside the city where they placed flowers, milk, and wine on the graves of their parents. They did this to stop the dead from being hungry and plaguing the land.
Lupercalia was a holiday for youths where they would race around the Palatine Hill. The runners in the race would dress in skins of sacrificed goats and were smeared with their blood. As the runners passed by they would whip the spectators with strips of goatskin, which was said to promote fertility, so women wanting children would watch the races.
For Compitalia each farmer would build a shrine with an alter at the boundary of his farm.The farmers would then place wooden dolls on the alter as representation of each family member and burn them as a sacrifice, meant to purify the farm for the next year.

At the beginning Saturnalia was only a one day holiday, but overtime it became a 7 day holiday. Saturnalia begain with a sacrifice at the temple of Saturn. Saturnalia was like Christmas for the Romans and it was the biggest festival of them all. Each day there was a massive feast and lots of celebratory activites to do.
On Tubilustrium sacred trumpets of war were purified at a ceremony to the god Mars(Ares). This sacred tradition was to bring success in the upcoming battle season.

At most of these celebrations Ludi were held to honor the gods and enterain the people, ludi were games played by the Romans. Ludi Florales were played in honor of Flora the goddess of flowers.
