  • One of many positive effects that the tragic British colonization had on India was that it brought order and stability something that India lacked of. The british basically controlled them and made them follow their every order if not they would get killed. But after it did make them realize that order and stability is what they needed.

Second Positive Effect Of British Colonization in India

  • Another positive effect was an efficient government bureaucracy was established, this divided into departments and this lead to the establishment of school systems so they would learn the English language.

British Colonization in India:

Third Positive Effect of British Colonization in India

  • The third positive effect that the British had on India was the development of transportation including roads and railroads. Also they got introduced to a telegraph system and a postal service

Third Negative Effect of British Colonization in India

  • The last effect they had on Indians was the racism that occurred. They suffered because the British felt that whites were better than Indians and they didn't see Indians as actual people. This is because there were mixed couples but then the Indians slaughtered women and children during the Indian Rebellion. After that interracial couples were not allowed and they made fun of Indian culture.

Positive and Negative

Effects

First Negative Effect of British Colonization in India

Second Negative Effect of British Colonization in India

  • The first negative effect the British had on the Indians was they brought poverty and hardship to India. The British forced them to buy Opium and cotton to farm, if they didn't farm Opium they would be killed. This gave them a very limited food supply. Whatever they farmed went straight into the trading market.
  • The second negative effect the British had on India was they destroyed their natural resources and increased taxing. They thought that these resources would be easy to take from India and transport all of them to where they needed to go but gave little to the Indians. They collected Indian taxes and also used them as cheap labor.
