Before this scene, Coraline was out to find a well, since there was nothing interesting to do. She also met a strange boy whose name is Wybie.
The sound used in this scene is all diegetic sound, there were no music or sound track, but sound effect was added at the start as the lightning and the motorbike engine, to create a sense of fear and mystery, since Wybie was wierd and strange. Small sound effects were added in detail in order to make the movie has more reality feel.(eg. when Coraline hit Wybie there was a slapping sound, when Wybie knocked on the well there was a hollow sound).
This scene in the film was about what happened the first time when Coraline and Wybie met, at the 'secrete' well Coraline was trying to find.
Voice over is the one of the most important sound added in this scene, so we can know what the characters are talking about, and helps us to follow the story line. In this scene, Wybie has hinted alot of stuff (eg. the well is very deep, his grandma won't let people rent it with kids).
This scene in the movie was a important leading into the climax of the movie, because Wybie( a key character, who bought the doll to Coraline) told Coraline that it is strange for his grandma to let a family with kid to move in, after the mysterious disappearance of the grandma's sister in the house. it also forshadowed the importance of the 'secrete' well.
The camera shot in these two pictures is establishing shot in the background showing the overview of the setting(the house and things around it), hinting the audiences that something bad will happen as the colour of the pictures is black and grey.
The depth of field in these two pictures is shallow depth, draws attention to the characters, with the background out of focus.
The camera angle is on an high angle, it reveals the setting the film, draws attention to the pink house by creating a contrast between the colour of the house and other objects, also draws attention by making the characters look at the house.
Even though the film Coraline is mostly taken from Coraline's point of view, but those low angle shots were taken from Wybie's point of view(point of view shot), in order to show the setting, focus on the only bright colour which the character is wearing as well as the spot where the character is standing.
In the foreground the camera shot is long shot, focus on the characters and shows the outfit of the characters. This camera shot is used here to tell what the characters are doing.
The depth of field for all three of the images is in deep focus, focusing on the whole picture.
High angle shots were used to show Coraline's point of view, when Wybie was coming down from the hill, it revealed Coraline's fear towards Wybie when he appeared from nowhere with a scary mask.

The pictures was dark to create a sense of fear, the sudden brightness in the second image was the lightning, which makes the audience to focus on the character and add a more mysterious feel to the character.
The facial expression Coraline had when she first saw Wybie was showing that she was scared, because of Wybie's sudden appearing and scary outfit.
The expressions and the vocal inflection Coraline had , after Wybie took of the mask, was annoyed, irritated and angry(lips curved down), because Wybie had scared her at the start, and the way Wybie acted was wierd.
