The Stepped Reckoner came from Germany. The inventor got the idea when he was visiting France. He started the designed it in 1672 and the it was built in 1694.
The stepped reckoner was made of brass and steel and was set in a oak case. It had a acculation bar on the front it could hold 16 dights and 8 knobs that would set the numbers and a crank to preform calculations.

To preform addtion equashion you would set both numders in the aculation bar the turn the crank forward. To preform a subtract equashion you set both numbers in the aculation bar the turn the crank bawards. To preform divison set one number in the aculation bar the set the dividin on the dial and turn the crank backwards. To preform mutiplcation set one number in the aculation bar then set the multipler in the dial then turn the crank forward.
