THE BIRD

Our bird will be a Yellowback Yeller.

This is a unusual bird because it has a

very unusual sound. Basically, they yell like yodelers. These birds are native to the Blob River. The reason the bird is next to the river is because they drink the nectar from the Pink Watercress Fiddle Fern.

THE SYMBOLS FOR ZORP

The first symbol is our flower, and that is the

Pink Watercress Fiddle Fern. It is a healing

flower. Unlike other flowers on Earth this

flower can cure sickness. Our doctor could make

medicine with the flower and it could save

a lot of sick people. The flower will drink water from the river.

THE TREE

This is a Flower Fruit tree. This tree gives the food to most of the animals in the forrest. Without the tree, the animals would starve to death. This tree will supply us with food, and with wood for houses and fire.

THE ANIMAL

Our animal will be the Blue Blobs. This strange creature is known for the fact that it makes jelly. They stay near the river and they do this so that they can stay hydrated. Without water the blob will dry out and evaporate.

Laws and consequences

1) No stealing.

2) Everyone gets equal food.

3) If you don't work, you don't eat.

4) Everyone is responsible for their own job, unless they are hurt or sick.

5) Everyone is equal; no ranks, equal rights.

6) Freedom of speech; don't be afraid to speak up.

7) If you break a law, you will have to serve varied amounts of time,(depending on if you turn yourself in, if someone else turns you in, and how bad the crime was), in a stocks in the “town square”

8) Respect these laws.

9) Spartacus and/or Abraham Lincoln will enforce these laws, and carry out the consequences.

10) Do not do anything that will harm the community's success,(greediness, hoarding food, etc.).

All About Zorp

Environment

Zorp, if you don't already know, is a planet that has recently been discovered by Astrologists United, an association not commonly known to the world. It is very similar to Earth, with oxygen, water, animals and trees. We do not know exactly what type of animals, but we know that there is life besides plants. We TDS 5th graders were put in charge of settling the planet. This Prezi is about how we are going to do that.

For our enviornment we chose an area that had a forest and a river near by. We chose this area because there is trees for lumber ( to build our loghouses), and a river for water, food, and transportation. The main reason we are settling next to a river rather than a pond is that all we need to catch fish is a net, because the current will carry the fish in to the net. Also, it will provide transportation.

We chose Kathryn because she is good at breeding animals and since we have chickens, this would help our community very much.

Spartacus could help defend our colony from any attacks since he is a great warrior and leader. He could also help enforce laws.

We are going to bring John Smith because when he was alive he was a great leader and a very hard worker. He will help our colony succeed thanks to this.

We should bring Cynthia because she was trained for the uses of plants. This could supply us with extra food. We should bring her despite her age because she could teach younger people.

We chose to bring Brenda along so that she could teach Leonardo Da Vinci how to speak English. She could also help teach another alien life-form English, if it/they were friendly. Also she is an amazing cook!

We are going to bring Abraham lincoln because he could help make peace throughout the colony and he could help make sure the laws are obeyed.

Elon could invent things to help our colony succeed; such as tranportation that runs on light.

We had a list of people available, and their abilities, to choose from, and we could only choose five, because we already have five people from history, and we have room for ten people. These are the five we chose, and why we chose them.

We should bring Brian because he was raised by the Iroquois people so he is resourceful and knows how to survive in the wilderness. He also is young, so he will live longer.

We should bring William because he has over 30 years of experience and could help make sure everyone stays healthy. Also he could treat the ill.

Leonardo Da Vinci

We should bring Leonardo because if the colony had secerets that they didn't want to be seen by other colonies, he could write them backwards.

We chose to bring Flint and steel because it could make fires easier (to keep us warm).

We chose to bring a first aid kit because it will provides us with the supplies we need to heal ourselves if we get hurt.

We chose to bring assorted seeds because if planted they will provide us with the food we need, and will also feed the chickens.

The reason we decided to bring chickens is they could produce eggs and, if needed, provide meat.

Having a water purifier

will ensure us that we are drinking clean water, and will keep us healthy because we won't catch any sicknesses from the water that we drink.

Hunting

On zorp we will hunt for our food, and will also eat chickens that have been fed to be the right size to eat. We will hunt for fish and other creatures in the water.

Gathering

Food/shelter

We will gather berries and plants on the new planet. We will try to grow plants from earth and harvest their seeds if it works. If not, we will gather different plants from Zorp.

Farming

On Zorp we will try to grow crops and keep chickens. We plan to feed the chickens the extra seeds that are leftover after planting the crops. As we grow more crops, we shall dry food like corn,beans, squash, etc.....

For food we are bringing chickens which we can cook if we have enough, and will lay eggs for us. Also to get food we will hunt, gather, and fish. We could hunt deer and gather berries, for example.

For shelter we will build log cabins (that will fit 3-5 people). We will build the log houses with the lumber we get from trees.
