Mademoiselle De Lafontaine

By: Heather Moore

Difficulties

Her Impact on the World at that Time

Women dancers were unheard of during that time period. Unlike men, she was hampered by the long, confining costumes and limited ballet techniques of the time.

Until then, female parts in ballet had been danced by men. Her charm and grace on stage gave her the title of the Queen of Dance. Her impact was to open the field of dance for women.
