SUPERSTRING THEORY

And that, my friends, is string theory in a nutshell

Do you recognize this man? You should.

Albert Einstein created many theories of relativity involving big things, such as stars and galaxies, but his laws aren't all that complex as you might think. For example, he thought as gravity as a grid that was malleable. This led to many great discoveries about orbit and black holes. His general relativity theories was one of the theories fighting for dominance in the 1900s.

And those make up us! So string theory is the perfect combination of the peaceful relative world and chaotic quantum world!

There was also another group of scientists

working on small things.

These theories about small things were called quantum mechanics, and they're very confusing.

Why is SuperString Theory necessary?

SuperString Theory (or String Theory) actually began in the 1900s, when two theories were dominant

In the next hundred years we may be able to learn all of the secrets of the universe applying these ideas.

Even though we may not have enough technology today to prove its existence, we are still learning very much about the universe with the very idea of string theory!

At the quantum level,

Things rapidly obliterate and create each other time and time again over the course of eternity.

And each seperate quark make up their respective particle

Yet each seperate vibration of a string creates a different quark (the materials that make up a proton and a neutron)

These strings vibrate very rapidly making up what we know as the quantum level, or the realm of the very small.

But this is odd

Because this directly conflicts with the ideas of general relativity.

Can we really have a universe that has its foundations set in two very different, almost opposite ideas. One being an elegant grid that bends and twists and the other as chaotic as a New Year's Eve party on a Saturday night.

Is it possible to unite general relativity and quantum mechanics?

Since both theories have been proven, you can't deny their existences

Yes. The answer is spelled out in one word, strings.

But that doesn't mean that confusion has to be the end of the line. This is what theoretical physicists are working on today, is there a way for both general relativity and quantum mechanics to coexist in our seemingly peaceful universe.
