Vote in Brigadier

The guests loved the treat and soon enough people started asking: “Have you tried the Brigadeiro‘s candy? Where is the Bridagier’s candy?” And that is where the name Brigadeiro comes from.

He lost, but the Brigadeiro no

Eduardo Gomes lost the candidacy, but the Brigadeiro stayed, to our hapiness!

Anyway, despite the support received, Eduardo Gomes lost the election to Eurico Gaspar Dutra.

Mandatory presence at birthday party, The Brigadeiro Candy gained the status of delicacy in the finest events and currently it is possible to find it in several flavors. Known worldwide is appreciated by all who experience it

Traditional Brazilian Candy

The different types of Brigadeiro

Who invented this wonderful candy?

The Tradicional Brigadeiro is made of cocoa powder, condensed milk, butter and granulated chocolate.

Has a round shape and is served in colour paper baking cases

What do traditional Brazilian sweets have to do with women’s voting rights?

The common denominator is Brigadier Eduardo Gomes, who was a candidate for president in 1945, the first year that Brazilian women could vote.

The Brigadeiro candy was created by his wife who would cook the candies and serve them during their fundraising events

As the festivities of the canvassers were closely contested by the population, they soon began to call friends to come eat "sweetie of Brigadier" in portuguese "Docinho do Brigadeiro"

Nowadays we have variations of Brigadeiro, changing the ingredients or the format. Creating Brigadeiros with new flavors
