Learning Objective: You will apply what you know about Tinkercad tools to create a highly complex design.

Essential Question: How can CAD software enable us to easily create highly precise objects?

Do Now: Look closely at the storyboard for the selection tool. What does is strong elements does it contain that will help keep the video on track?

Do Now: We can and will get faster at manipulating objects in Tinkercad! Think about yesterday's design. In your notes, list all the things that were challenging about completing it.

Do Now: Below is a step 3 in the Trick Die lesson! Mr. Rothman thinks he is done with the step. Mr. Allatta isn't so sure. Who's right? How can you tell?

Today's assignment (due by the end of the period):

  • Complete 03.19_Tinkercad Ruler Lesson (Complete by 9:30am and we will print in class.)
  • Return to Tinkercad Tool video and complete (up to 90% credit available for completing in class, otherwise 75% outside of class).

Note: Tinkercad Tool video must be done by Monday.

Determine which Boolean operation is shown within each shaded Venn Diagram . Then write the mathematical statement that describes it.

Basic Laptop Rules:

1. No headphones - except when watching assigned videos.

2. Only use the laptop assigned to you.

3. Carry the laptop by the base (not the screen).

4. On task - doing so is worth 10% of your overall grade on the assignment.

Tinkercad Tool Videos

Video Guidelines. "Tell them what you're going to tell them, then tell them, then tell them what you just told them."

Your video should:

1. Introduce the Tinkercad tool and tell why it is important/useful.

2. Demonstrate how to access the tool.

3. Demonstrate or discuss any keyboard shortcuts.

4. Demonstrate the tool in use.

5. Be no longer than 3 minutes (2 minutes is even better).

6. Briefly discuss/demo uses with other tools.

7. Summarize what people have seen at the end.

  • Due today: A poster demonstrating what your tool/shortcut is and how to put it to use.
  • Due the class after: storyboard and demonstration video showing others how to use the tool.
