The Case of the Missing Millionaire

"News Report Edition"

By: Rachel Timberlake, Gwen Jones and Grace Justice

Breaking News Report!!!

Felix Navidad was reported having been murdered today at 3:00 pm at his beach house. Apparently, Felix bought this new beach house and invited a group of friends over. The people invited were Vera Cruise, Alfredo Fettuccine, Kendra Goode, and Gene Poule. Felix recently became a millionaire, and the people that were invited were all on Felix’s will. So if he died, they all would inherit a lot of money; giving everyone there the perfect motive to commit the murder. It was reported that Alfredo Fettuccine committed the murderer, since he spent the most time with Felix the day and time he was murdered. Alfredo’s alibi was that he was going to the bathroom at the time of the crime, and was in there for ten minutes. However, Kendra was in the shower at that time, and there is only one bathroom in the beach house. It is believed that

It was said that this crime started with Alfredo and Felix enjoying to cup of Coca Cola together out on the beach house porch. Our theory was that Alfredo poisoned his coke sometime during the time of when Alfredo was with Felix. When Alfredo claimed he was "Going to the bathroom," he was inferred to have poisioned Felix's drink during that time. (Also, at the crime, there was an ice tray found at the scene.) Notes say that the ice tray was used to hold the ice that was put in their Coca Cola cans. So when Felix took a sip of the new poisoned drink, he collapsed to the floor. Alfredo didn’t know how unconscious he was. It has been reported that once Felix hit the ground, a wall clock bounced off the wall from all the commotion. The clock landed right down on the top of Felix’s head. Pieces of glass splattered everywhere. Alfredo played the guitar, leading the investigator team to infer he might have been wearing cologne to an earlier concert earlier that day, before joining Felix. This is due to the fact that a cologne bottle was found in a white trash can at the crime scene. Before joining Felix, Alfredo most likely threw the cologne in there, then realizing the bottle was empty.

Some small evidence that was claimed to have been found were small nails. The investigators inferred that these could’ve been screwed onto the clock, before it fell and hit Felix. The team of our investigators also reported to us that the murderer, Alfredo, might’ve tried to wipe up any of Felix’s coke that could’ve spilt when he fell to the ground. This might be because he didn’t want anyone finding out what happened. This is due to the fact that there was a trashcan, a paper towel with brown stains on it, and a white towel. Reports say that he may not have finished trying to clean up though. The trashcan might’ve contained that chocolate bar because after interviewing Kendra, they found she loved chocolate. When coming in to the crime after given the call, casually she threw it in the trashcan.

Kendra Goode was an artist. A paint brush and black can of spilt black paint was suspiciously found also in the crime scene. The investigator team concluded that she might have been touching up some things in the act of trying to help straighten up after having been messed up.

When thoroughly investigated, dry, crunchy, dark red blood was found surrounding Felix and the area around him. Footprints were also a finding. A piece of clear evidence directing the role of the murderer to Alfredo was that he was found with a cut on one of his hands. The report team concludes that this is from the clock smashing to the ground, then hitting Felix on the head. Pieces of glass were said to have blasted everywhere when it fell, explaining the cut on Alfredo’s hand.

After Alfredo “found” Felix dead after coming back from the bathroom, Alfredo called everyone to the scene. Alfredo didn't really "find" Felix dead. He was the one to commit the murder. But, he told his friends he "found" Felix dead because he didn't want them to know. The group that Alfredo called over included: Kendra Goode, Vera Cruise, and Gene Poule. The footprints were traced down by crime scene investigators and the results were to match the feet of some of these suspects, including Mr. Alfredo Fettuachini. The other suspects' footprints were mainly thought of to have been from exaamining the scene. Since Alfredo called everyone to the scene, investigators told me that he most likely told his group of friends that he didn’t know what happened, just to stay innocent. When investigated, the crime scene included a pair of sunglasses. This was concluded to be from Gene. So, Gene must’ve actually walked into the crime scene and thoroughly observed. Otherwise, why would her sunglasses be in there? Investigators still don’t know the whole reason behind that quite yet.

Pieces of wool string were also spotted as evidence in the crime scene. It was concluded that Vera Cruise and Gene Poule were wearing wool sweaters. The pieces of string were reported to have been found just laying in the scene because Gene's dog Sasha had jumped up and down on them during the greetings. This caused string to fall out of their sweaters. Speaking of Gene Poule and Sasha, he told the reporters that he was walking his dog and then got the “call” from Alfredo. Was it true that the animal footprints could’ve been from Gene’s dog, Sasha?

Gene announced that Sasha was never on the patio, where the murder took place. But could she have been? If and when Sasha, (Gene’s dog) came in, the tennis ball was said to have been brought in from her. Investigators say it might’ve been brought up from Gene’s walk with Sasha.

Evidence has shown that a secret yellow note was found at the crime scene. We believe it was written by Gene Poule and Alfredo, as they both had a brown felt pen on them at the time. Brown stains were spotted on the floor of the crime. Even though the pens were not found, they might've left the them with ink coming out. So once Gene arrived at the scene, it was thought that they wrote the note together most likely stating that something happened to this dear man and had no idea of what. Doing this made Alfredo look like he had no part in the crime, but we know he did.

Kendra, Vera, and Gene all supposedly have pierced ear(s). When walking through the crime scene, it must’ve fallen off. This is because a pearl earring was found a few hours later in the crime scene.

This team of reporters concludes that each suspect had to be in the crime scene. They also believe that the group of friends were mainly observing what had happened. But, what some of their belongings are doing there in the way that they were, still remains a mystery. What was mentioned of the evidence earlier, is what they infer now.

Be on the lookout for more news. Alfredo Fettuccine was never caught, so he could still be anywhere in the area. Police and Detectives are still hunting for him at this very moment. Rumors were said that Felix had been spotted by the nearby bus station, but is that what really happened? The News Report Team that logged in claims, “No, Felix has already been concluded dead.”

Stay tuned. There is more news to come in next week's edition.

Investigators that gave the Newspaper this information for the newspaper were: Rachel Timberlake, Gwen Jones, and Grace Justice. We thank them for their great report to us.

No Chat Makes Unhappy Students!!!

Nagel Students are complaining about how chat isn't on ''Schoology." The students are making requests to start using Facebook instead. The students say if this isn't allowed, they will begin to go on strike. Mr. Vandemeer is still discussing it over with the Annual Forest Hills School Board.

Student Jim Shoe says,

"Bring on Facebook! It will let us chat with someone else when they are online about upcoming assignments. I say that this is better than sending messages through your inbox on schoology because with chat, you can reply right away to one another."

What will Mr. Vandemeer and the school board decide? Will they leave the students happy or unhappy?

Poll of the Week:

Do you think Facebook should replace Schoology?

a.) TOTALLY!!! Bring on the FB!!!

Lunch Lady Falls into A Cooking Pot

Melissa MgGee, one of the Nagel Middle School lunch ladies, fell into a large pot of chili after she was pushed by an 8th grade student. Mrs. MgGee doesn't know who did this to her, having gone in face first, but it was during an 8th grade lunch period. If anyone knows who did this, Mr. Vandimeer, the school prinicpal, is offering the reward of 2 SOAR cards. More news to come.
