Pollard Started as an apprentice to several independent filmmakers. He worked in the ‘70s on celebrity profiles and television specials to build his skills as an editor. He went on to work on NBC children’s programs Vegetable Soup and The Children’s Television Workshop’s 3-2-1-Contact for which he received two Emmys. Pollard became a producer, working with Henry Hampton on several of his documentaries, which awarded him another Emmy. He then began editing numerous films for Spike Lee. Sam Pollard also received The George Peabody Award for his work on a television series. He now teaches at NYU.
