"Suki"

Fractured Hind Leg

GOAL!

"Suki" is a very hyper, happy and energetic dog, she enjoys to run, and loves speed.

She is healed, but will likely have problems with her leg in the far future.

Thank you!

Diagnosis

"Suki" came in for a recheck while I was in clinic and the Doctor said she was doing much better.

She suspected that it could have been a sprain or some soft tissue damage

Secondary presenting complaint

"Suki" later came in 3.5 years after her broken left hind leg with non weight bearing on the same leg.

There was no stifle fusion, no pain on stifle, no drawer, no pain on palpation, mild soft tissue swelling over dorsal of hock was present, her hips were normal, but she did have painful hock flexion. There were no fractures, and her Tibia was curved

Homecare & Rechecks

For post op care she had a cast on for about 2 months and she had to attend physiotherapy and have special vitamins

"Suki"s rechecks were positive and she was always improving, she had her cast changed every week for 2 months, no sores were shown and she was able to use the leg in her cast.

Between her 2nd and 3rd rechecks she was in boarding at the hospital, possibly to keep an eye on her, or because the owners could not give the best care at the time.

She received radiographs 1 month, 2 months and 2.5 months after the surgery and all was well and healing properly
