Lord Gort was a black cat, a symbol of good luck in World War Two. She was tired of the crying, fussing, and craziness of the house and wanted to be back with her former owner in the peace and quiet. On her way to find her person she met several new people that had been struggling with the war but as they kept her and fed her their luck would turn. The people she found wee at some of the lowest points in their life but by the time she left they were heroes to their towns The struggles and dangers of world war two had made it a real struggle finding her person and she could feel his presence but twice as she got closer he left that place and headed another direction. In the end she had nearly given up hope completely when she reach the house she used to know and he vanished again. She stayed near the house and one day after he flew his plane back in he spotted her on the side of the road finally reuniting them.

Blitzcat is a historical fiction. It's a historical fiction because it is set in world war two which really happened. It is fiction because it is told from the point of view of a cat which couldn't actually happen. Throughout the book the Characters speak about the events just like some one back then would.

Setting

Throughout her journey towards home she traveled along unused dirt roads passing through towns and stopping at friendly smelling houses to get food. She traveled along oily beaches strewn with the trash and bodies left from the war. For a while she stayed at an airport base living with the pilots and in the end she ended up back where she belonged.

External conflict

Internal conflict

An internal conflict hat takes place in the story is when Tommy is flying his plane before he found Lord Gort.

An external conflict takes place when a bomb detonates blasting Lord Gort through the air and making her deaf and temporarily blind.

"Tommy sat alone at the end of a long fragile tube of metal and canvas, down which an icy gale howled, feeling the lonliest man in the world."

"She got up slowly, and seemed to stare around. But she was blind. And she could hear nothing. A human would have screamed and gone mad. Even in a state of shock Lord Gort remained objective."
