What are computerized medical devices and instruments

Medical devices are very important in health care because they provide safety and proficiency for everyone involved. Though some of the medical devices are costly and a huge risk they are a great resource. Computerized medical devices have much more risk than regular instruments

All medical devices are made into different classification groups varying on how complex and simple they are. There are three different classes I, II, III. They all have to follow the FDA policies.

Class III

Class III consist of the most complex tools to design and have to strictest guidelines. Class III tools are usually responsible for human life which leaves no room for error. These include heart valves, artificial hearts

Medical devices and instruments can range from thermometers to high tech computerized breathing machines. There is an estimated 1.5 million medical devices worldwide. There are many medical devices so they are classified in three groups I, II, III. Which most computerized devices are in class II and up.

Class I

Class II

Class I medical devices consist of the instruments that have no potential risk. These items include the basic tools at your doctors office

ex: tongue depressor, examination gloves

Class II medical devices consist of the tools that are more complex to design than class I.

They also have only a minimal risk. This is the class where you find the simple computerized devices These items include powered wheel chairs, x-ray machines,
