Jack and the Beanstalk Fractured fairy tale

A few days pass and I wake up one morning to go to the grocery store when I find that my stash of coins is not here either.

I call to wife again, “I know you are tricking me now! Get my coins out here so I can go to the grocery store.”

Once again she was still asleep… it did not make sense. Who could be taking all this stuff from me? Now that I have lost my golden eggs and coins, I could not but food for the family and we were going to turn poor.

I awoke the late the next morning and to my eyes should appear, my chicken who lays golden eggs was missing.

I called to my wife, “Enough with these tricks, give me my chicken back!” but she was still asleep.

I searched the entire house for it but it was nowhere to be found. v

By cutting down the beanstalk he was doing himself no good just hurting my environment who was not doing him any harm. I got lucky however and his mom stopped him from cutting it down and told him to never go back up there again.

I slept well that night after having to chase that little fellow out of my house.

As I was saying that, a little boy with the name of Jack came out of our cupboard. I screamed! It scared me… why was a little boy in my house and how did he get up here? Being the brave husband I am and protecting my wife I chased that little boy right out of our house and down the beanstalk.

When I was chasing him out I heard “Mom, Help Me! Get me the axe! I need to cut this beanstalk down!”

She ran over with the axe and he started chopping it down. This was not his place to cut my house down, I meant no harm he was just trespassing my house.

But, I watched what I said out loud and said, “Honey, I do not want to eat an Englishman, I just remembered the smell of the food in England so it was actually a compliment your cooking.”

My wife yelled as she scrambled around in the kitchen, “Stop that! We do not eat Englishmen! Not all giants need to be scary and hungry for everything in their path!”

I thought to myself, “Well you do not have to assume I am some big monster coming to eat people… why don’t you use your peanut sized mind and think about me in a good way for once.”

I walked in singing, “Fee-fi-fo-fum, I smell the blood of an Englishman, Be he alive, or be he dead, I'll have his bones to grind my bread.” That is what they sang every time they brought out the food in England to get people excited their food was coming.

From eating all that food there I have grown big and plump. I walked out of bed and realized my beanstalk had grown very high off the ground and was not as sturdy. The ground echoed as I thumped to the kitchen getting excited that I smelled the same smell as when I was in England. As I got closer I remember the food when I was in England more vividly.

This was a worrying thought and I needed to find the person who was causing my family to live poorly when I should not be thee one hurt for their actions. I went to bed hungry so I did not sleep well.

Jack and the beanstalk

One morning I woke up and felt very hungry. I remember when I went to England last year and had the best food ever. Breakfast everyday was scrambled eggs that you could smell a mile away with bacon.

I woke up very early to the sound of, “Clack” “Bang” “Ching”.

I got out of bed as quick as Bolt and right in front of me was the little rascal who was in my house about a week ago.

I screamed at the top of my lungs, “You little poop turd! You are not to be in my house! Bring back everything you have stolen! NOW!”

High in the air I was when I started falling...falling...falling.

This was infuriating to me. The little rascal was not to come back to my house, I thought I had scared him away enough, but I guess not. I did not want him coming back so I did what I had to do and scared the guy right out of his pants.

His mom ran out and the axe was left out from last time he almost cut down the beanstalk. Jack jumped off the beanstalk being able to get down way faster than me and his mom started cutting it down.

I chased him back down the beanstalk yelling and shout where is mom heard too, “Out! Get out now! You ruin everything! You made me go hungry! Now you must pay!”

Explanation

For the Jack and the Beanstalk fractured fairy tale we changed the point of view of the story to the giant telling the story. The giant shows why he said and did what he did to the little boy, Jack. He wasn't actually trying to be mean, but the others took it that way. We included the social issue of people assuming bad things about others before actually talking to them and knowing who they are. This happens with the giant when the people assume he is the bad guy, but his point of view shows he is not the one acting wrong. We also included an economic issue poor people who are in need of money or supplies so they steal from others. This happens in the fractured fairy tale when Jack and his mom are poor so Jack starts stealing from the giant.
