I really enjoyed reading Jerome Kaino: My Story. It interested me because I am a fan of rugby, and also Jerome Kaino is one of my biggest role models. It also appealed to me how the book wasn't very formal, and I like that style. I believe that this book could inspire anyone to follow their dreams and overcome challenges. This book motivated me to try harder in school, and also in sports. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys sports, or for anyone who is looking for inspiration. I really loved reading this book, and I hope other people enjoy it too.
The main theme of Jerome Kaino: My Story is about facing and overcoming challenges. In the book, it tells the story about how he became one of the great all blacks that he is today, although he had to go through some challenges to get to where he now is. The book is very inspirational because of this, as it proves that any regular person can push theirselve's to achieve their greatest goals. The fact that the book is an autobiography makes this so much more credible for the reader.
Jerome Kaino's biography is about his life, his upbringing, and the challenges that he faced on his road to becoming one of the greatest All Blacks that there ever was. The book starts with him being born in America Samoa, his life in New Zealand, his childhood and his rugby career. The book is very inspiring, as it talks about how his life changed in an instant, and how he makes the change happen, although in a bad situation. He tells about the story of the 2011 world cup, and the victory that the All Blacks side got. He also reflects on what his thoughts are on his life, and what his thoughts are of the future.
The book has a very unorthodox writing style. The book seems to change the time setting and focus in the story in a matter of words. This gives Jerome the ability to inform about many different things, but still keeps the book flowing and keeps hooking the reader in for more. The language used consists mostly of slang and laid back language, as he writes about himself in style of talking like himself. It makes it feel like you are sitting down with him and he is explaining his life story.
Jerome Kaino: My story's main character is obviously Jerome Kaino. As it is a biography, most of the other characters, come and go, as Jerome grows. Jerome Kaino is a kind and thoughtful person, who also is very likeable and proud. He likes to think, and have his main focus on his goals, and has the courage to push off any obstacles that come in the way of his goals. He can show good leadership skilld, but mostly focuses on him, and where he needs or wants to be. His traits gave him the power to make it to the person that he is today, a great All Black with a mind to achieve.
Each chapter in the book has a different setting, time, and tone/theme. The main setting is his South Auckland home that he grew up in ever since he from American Samoa. He doesn't go in to much detail about his home, but he talks about what happened in his childhood setting. He went to school at Kelvin Road Primary School, where they played a lot of sport, with all the other local kids. That is where he found his love for rugby. The church was also a big place in his life, because he believes that having some faith can really help you achieve things
