In 1958 brought Americans a recession and large increase in unemployment of 5.2 million over 7%. Cars continued to get bigger and heavier with bigger engines. The micro chip was created.
There were a couple social issues during the 1950s most well-known being the cold war. There were constantly threats of nuclear war. Then there was an issue with the Civil Rights Movement.
Rock n Roll became a huge thing in the 50s. The number of college students doubled in size. Colored television was created in the 50s which changed entertainment.
Clashes between communism and capitalism dominated the deade. Conflicts included the Korean war in the beginning of the decade and the beginning of the Space Race with the launch of sputnik

Some moral issues would be things like Little Rock 9. Another would be the Brown v.s Board of Education. Rock n Roll was also a moral issue because parents didn't approve of the music and Elvis saying he's to sexual and inappropriate.
1. Elvis Presley changed the world of music with his "rock and roll" style.
2. Marilyn Monroe was a very successful actress and alot of people saw her as the face of the 50s . She ended up overdosing which was reported as a suicide.
3. Harry S. Truman was looked upon as a leader for ending World War ll by dropping the atom bomb on Japan. He was president from 1945-1953
4. Rosa Parks on December 1, 1955 she sat in the white person section was asked to get up, she refused and was later then arrested.
5. James Dean a name you probably don't know was a great actor whos career and life was cut short due to an accident.

3-D movies were created in the 50s and started developing more and more and we've been able to create 4-dimensional movies. McDonalds was a big part of the 50s and has ended up being a big reason for obesity and health problems nowadays.
