Hello, and welcome to this brief tutorial on adding resources to theHive!

We're going to walk you through how to quickly add resources to theHive. We will also show you how to fully complete a resource entry, which takes just a couple minutes longer.

And you'll go directly to the resource you loaded:

Once you've logged into theHive, click the

"ideaMap" button. You'll arrive at the ideaMap

page shown here...

Then, click the "Add Resource" button at the top right of the screen.

On this page, you must select the Resource Type that you're loading, and up to five (5) sets of Theme-Subject-Topic chains by which the resource will be categorized in the ideaMap.

This concludes the tutorial on adding resources to theHive.

This is the first screen you'll see when adding a resource. Those steps that are mandatory to add a resource are marked with an asterisk (*).

Please fill out the Resource Name, Short Summary, and URL.

Check that the URL is valid, then proceed to the next page by clicking "Next."

Once you complete at least one chain, you will have completed the minimum information required for the resource to appear in theHive.

You can either click "Save & Exit" or continue adding details about this resource by clicking "Next."

You can edit any resource by clicking its "Edit" button.

You'll arrive at this page, where you can see the name and status (complete or incomplete) of all the resource you've entered in theHive.

You will arrive at this screen either if you clicked "Edit" on the "Manage Resources" page

or

if you had continued adding resources earlier

(instead of "Save & Exit" you selected "Next").

If you clicked "Save & Exit" on the previous screen, then you'll see this screen to indicate that your entry has been saved.

You can choose several courses of action:

Select or enter the author(s) of the resource, then click "Next."

If you clicked "Save & Exit," you can return another time to work on the resource.

To do so, just make sure that you're logged into theHive, click on the top right button with your name, and then click on "Manage Resources."

On this page, enter any institutions that the resource is connected to.

Continue on by clicking "Next."

You must insert the year of publication, or event date, if applicable.

On this page, you must select the region and country that your resource is connected to (up to 5). You also have the option to select "Global."

On this final page, you can review and edit all the details you've entered about the resource.

When you're satisfied, click "Finish" at the bottom of this page....

Now you're close to finishing!

Now that you've loaded a resource into theHive....

How do you find it?

Enter a brief description of the resource, and any key words that will help users of theHive to search for it.

Click "Next"....

...you'll see this page, indicating that your changes have been successfully saved.

You've now added a resource to theHive!

From here, you can add a similar resource, add a

different resource, or return to the ideaMap.

To locate the resource you loaded on the ideaMap, you have two options:

Use the search bar and filters to locate it

or

click through the Theme-Subject-Topic

chain where you entered it.

If you click through the ideaMap to locate the resource...

The breadcrumb near the top shows you which Theme, Subject, and Topic you've clicked through to arrive here.

The central area shows institutions, authors, and topics associated with the resource.

Click on the URL....

The right side of the screen shows details about the resource. You can click on the link, read the description, or rate the resource.

If you added or authored this resource, you can edit it here.

You can also begin a new discussion on the resource, or join an ongoing discussion.
