The novel "Scythe" takes place in the future year 2042. In 2042 it is a very futuristic world. It is a world where they have overcome natural death, government, and have stopped counting the years. 2042 is a time where people constantly commit suicide because they think its is fun and where all humans are constantly living in fear that a scythe will come for them any second.,

Neil Shusterman has received many awards from his famous books. The most popular things he has done in his carrer was writing the script to the movie "Goosebumps" and writing the famous novel "Challenger Deep."
