Chemical Bonds By: Luke

What Are Chemical Bonds?

A chemical bond is any force of attraction that contains two atoms or ions together. Many times, the force of attraction is between one or more negatively charged electrons, held by one of the atoms and a positively charged nucleus of the second atom.

Who Discovered Them?

One of the first bonds was developed by a Roman poet, Lucretius. Lucretius described atoms as tiny spheres with fishhook-like arms. According to the poet, atoms combined with each other, the atoms get entangled.
