7. Centrifuge specim if turbid after thawing.

8. After mixing the sample and the reagent, tilt the slide back and forth until placed on an automated rotator

1. Specimen should be properly labeled with important informations.

2. Blood withdrawn in aseptic technique.

*Lipemia, hemolysis and bacterial contamination can make the sample unsuitable for testing,

3. Only fresh serum specimens should be used. Plasma must not be used since fibrinogen may cause non-specific agglutination of the latex.

Specimen Collection and Preparation

4. It is preferable to test samples on the same day as collected. If not performed immediately, specimen refrigerated at 2° C - 8° C for not more than 24 hours. Additional delay: serum frozen at -20° C.

5. Frozen serum should be thawed at 37° C.

6. Repeat thawing and freezing should be avoided.
