The Soviet Union ( Now Mainly Russia) landed the first unmanned space craft on Sept. 12, 1959. It was called " Luna 2". Then Luna 3 sent back the first photos of the moon's surface the following month.

The USA landed an Un- Manned space craft in 1964 called Able 1 and then Pioneer 0

The moon as no atmosphere so... the temperatures vary from boiling hot to freezing old,

-387 degrees Fahrenheit at night

253 degrees Fahrenheit in the day.

The rise and fall of sea levels are partly caused by the gravitational force of the moon.
