ANCIENT HAWAIIAN RELIGION

Ku

Kanaloa

Ku is the god of war, strength and healing. He he is a god of governance, deep sea fishing, upland forest, and a provider. He also brought unification to the worriers. He provider for his family and community.

Kanaloa is the god of navigator. He traveled all around the island of Hawaii and also was Kane's companionship. He is associated with the ocean, long distance and healing. Some people believed that the ocean was part of his body. Kanaloa also has forms of squid, octopus, dolphins and whales.

Kane

Lono is the god of agriculture and rain. It is a period where people can rest from their long harvest season. Lono also helps them to reconnect themselves again with their community but most importantly their families. Lono's kinolau includes sweet potato, guard plant, candlenut tree, fern, and a hinupua'a type of banana.

Kane is the god of forest and trees. Kane is the one who provides fresh water to Hawaiian people. Kane provides fresh water, sunlight, coral, lightning thunder, rainbows and some plants.
