This all started with Prohibition, which forbid the production, transporting and selling of alcohol. Prohibition led to bootlegging which is to make, distribute, or sell liquor illegally.
Organized crime means underworld organizations. Al Capone dealt with it. Usually involved liquor in some way, shape, or form since it was illegal.
Jazz, which is a mixture between the Blues and marching band music, was very popular during this time. This led to all kinds of new dances, such as The Charleston, One Step, and Black Bottom. The saxophone was introduced during this time too.
The automobile and assembly lines became all the rage in the '20s. Though the radio was invented in the late 1800's, it was refined and eventually became one of the most popular forms of entertainment.
F. Scott Fitzgerald published at least four books during this time including The Great Gatsby, and Flappers and Philosophers. Earnest Hemingway and Langston Hughes also published their works.
