To begin
To begin we started off with Grits who just needed some help on the leash and some manners. Once we got her better on the leash and after a few snapshots I was able to score Grits a home!
Overall this was a great experience
It is definitely something I plan to continue to do throughout the summer and next year.
With my pictures I was able to help several dogs get adopted. That included, Bambi, Ace, and Ellie Mae.
What I had planned to do was aid in getting 5 dogs adopted into homes, and help some of the more skittish dogs be able to to become adoptable and friendly.

What I learned
Life Lesson
I brought a couple life lessons out of this but the main one is not to judge the book by its cover. I know that is a cliche but it is the truth.
I learned a lot of things from being out there.
For one I learned just how hard it is to get a dog a nice home. Especially when it isn't "the right breed" or "color"
When Bambi arrived from the kill shelter she was rescued from she was mean as fire. She was trying to go after all the other dogs. After she settled in she was fine, just not dog friendly. After the way I saw her acting the first day she got there I didn't ever plan to come in contact with her again. Thought she was a lost cause. Once I gave her another chance she soon became my favorite.
She would roll onto her back to keep from going back in her yard.
Once she warmed up and came out of her shell, she showed just how great she was.
Also
I also learned if you don't know anything about an animal you never will be able to actually help them. Learn what you have of their stories and educate people on them. Before they make their final decision on the animal.
Border Collie Babies
One of the stories I learned was about the border collie babies. Their owner "couldn't keep them" after they where born. They where too "high strong". These babies where terrified, took us about 30 minutes just to get them on the leash, once we got them on only one would walk, had to carry the other because he was to terrified.
After the first time of being back out there at the "farm" nothing really went as planned. When I would get out there they always needed help with one thing or another. It began well with me doing my task of helping certain dogs rehabilitate and get adopted, but then, it came..
By "it" I mean puppies, lots and lots of puppies. Half these puppies still needed to be bottle fed so when I would get there I would spend about an hour out of my original plan helping bottle feed the 15 orphans.
