5 smilarites to Hebrew

flood from Genesis

Summary

  • Built an ark
  • flood covered the earth
  • Samples of each species were carried om the ark.
  • God promised not to destroy the earth again.
  • The people on the ark released birds to find land.

The flood account/myth we chose was Europe. Specifically the flood in Greece. This flood was started by Zeus mainly because he was not happy with the way he was being treated. So Zeus let out a huge flood of water to destroy all humanity. Then a man named Deucalion built an ark and filled it with his family and a lot of food. The whole earth was covered in water except for some mountain peaks. Deucalion sailed for the mountain peaks and survived the flood. Then he offered Thanksgiving to Zeus to end the flood.

5 Similarities To Gilgamesh Flood

  • Built a boat (the ark).
  • Humongous flood that covered the earth.
  • The people were blessed after the flood.
  • Heavy rains brought the massive flood.
  • Both arks from the stories landed on mountains.

  • The flood ended the bronze-age.
  • Zues started the flood.
  • The flood lasted 9 days.
  • Zues revolted on people to start the floods.
