Ode To Enchanted Light
Under the trees light
has dropped from the top of the sky,
light
like a green
latticework of branches,
shining
on every leaf,
drifting down like clean
white sand.
A cicada sends
its sawing song
high into the empty air.
The world is
a glass overflowing
with water.
By Pablo Neruda

Visual
This is a perfect photograph of what I think this poem is representing. Pictured above are a few rays of sunlight that have somehow snuck their way through the dense layers of the rainforest, and made it to the ground. Because of all the foliage it is hard for the light to reach this far so when it does it is special. The light is now "enchanted" as it is a rarity to reach such a clearing in the rainforest.
