Conclusion

In conclusion, North Korea and 1984 have many similarities and differences. But in the end they both seem to be an undesirable environment to live in.

  • Organizational life- They must meet every once in a while to talk about what they did.
  • Kim Jong Ill to North Korean is a god
  • Wants to be independent, b/c of this ideal they make nuclear weapons so they that they can be powerful enough that no one can control them.

  • Social system is the SongBun which is base on ancestral decedent

  • precise way of talking, Newspeak
  • Big Brother is really an unknown person
  • Always at war
  • 2 minutes of hate and hate weeks
  • All books and past is rewritten
  • The party beat the passion out of love
  • The party with The inner party, outer party and the paroles.

  • Both have secret police (Thought Police) and have citizens spy on each other
  • Both control what citizens are allowed to see on the television
  • Both ration out food to each family home
  • All jobs are assigned by the government
  • Most citizens don't know what is really going on in the country and only know what they've been told

  • Both have labor camps
  • Both have a black market
  • Government controls the media and what it says and does
  • Both have propaganda; North Korea has signs saying "Thank you, our leader", 1984 has "Big Brother is always watching".
