Gandhi believed that nonviolence achieves its goals through patience.

Martin Luther King Jr. also believed that it takes “creative tension” and a degree of confrontation to accomplish change.

Gandhi suffered physically for his cause by going on a hunger strike [not eating food] for some weeks.

Don't know how long and how many they groups.

Don't know what kind of groups and how many.

Don't know how many gunshots did it take to kill them.

But Martin Luther King Jr.'s wife and kids are still alive.
