As it was a way for them to experiment and see what works and what doesn't.
Through the Aktion -T4 and the whole of the euthanasia program it was found that gassing is more 'humane' (mostly just for the nazis) way of killing masses of people.
They therefore then went and used this information and ideas in the Final Solution.
Also the people in charge of the euthanasia program then went on to go and be in charge of the operation Reinhard death camps, as they were already 'trained' and can deal with the trauma better than new people.this made it easier for them to implement the euthanasia in the concentration camps.
They also used the same methods of killing such as deception, gassing and cremation.
