I will improve nothing because our whole team worked together so well. We communicated and worked together like a real team. Even though it was hard to choose who would do what but we still worked as a great team.

First what we did was communicate with each other. When we finished communicating we decided everybody is going to have role set to themselves. For ex: michael sketched the idea michael analysed the idea then everyone else worked as a team to put the real sketch together. If i was to change something I would change how we were communicating because everyone was not fully involved.

Analysis of Data

Abstract

Optimization

Michael L.

Apart from the slight discorrelation, the results constantly improved. As the team progressed on, we found multiple variables in our trials and ways to manipulate the design into working for us.

80% Distances measured over 30in.

10% Distances under 10in.

Rest of calculations are 18in.

  • Straws - flimsy and didn't support the toothpick.
  • Tape- cup repeatedly fell off toothpick
  • Rubberbands - thin and required multiple twists to function at its best rate.

  • From beginning to end, we used teamwork for the design process.
  • This project was to make a Cotton Ball Launcher within the certain amount of time. We were trying to learn how to collect data and work as a team.
  • Our constraints were that we were given a certain amount of supplies and materials to use in making our prototype within 5 minutes of building, 15 minutes to brainstorm, and 5 minutes to gather materials.
  • The materials we used were 2 cotton balls, 2 rubber bands,1 empty paper Dixie cup, 2 straws, 1 popsicle stick, and 12” masking tape.
  • Brainstorming affected our design by bringing up multiple ideas and designs to chose from. It also gave the team a unanimously elected prototype.
  • A problem that we had with our design was that it didn’t go far without winding it up far enough.

The statistical analysis results would not

be a better measure of performance when comparing alternate device that the distance traveled by a cotton ball in a single attempt. It would be best to compare a more diverse spectrum of values. If only one value were to be allowed, then taking the average would be acceptable. Otherwise, the full value set it recommended.
