Captain Jaggery:
He is FOUL because he
ordered Zachariah to have fifty
lashes, even though the old sailor
did nothing.
"Mr. Zachariah, step forward." pg. 95
"Very well," he said. "Mr. Hollybrass,
string Mr. Zachariah up." pg. 97
"Mr. Hollybrass," he said, " he's to
have fifty lashes."
All said by Jaggery
Pages 95-100
He is also DISTINGUISHED
because he is the only first
class man upon the
Seahawk.
'From his fine coat, his tall
beaver hat, form his glossy
black boots, form his clean,
countenace, from the dignified
way he carried himself, I knew at
once- without having to be told-
this must be Captain Jaggery. And
he- I saw it in a glance- was a
gentleman.' pg. 29

One of his traits is UNFORGIVING
because he did no forgive Charlotte for
whipping him in the face, it being a
true accident in attempt to save her
friend, Zachariah.
"Insulted by a sniffling, self-centered,
ugly, contemptible girl," he spat out,
"who deserves a horse whipping!"

He is also DELETERIOUS because
he had used one of his muskets to shoot Cranick, who was
one of his sailors until he lost an arm thanks to Jaggery.
"It was at that exact moment that Captain Jaggery fired his musket. The roar was stupendous. The ball struck Cranick square in the chest."

He is also VICIOUS because
he tried to kill Charlotte when she
came to his cabin and tried to steal
his muskests.
"He braced his legs wide, extended
his arm and pistol. I could see his
hand tighten."
"The shot went wide and in a rage he
flung the pistol at me."

pg 201-205
Charlotte is also FEARFUL because she was
quite scared when Zachariah offered Charlotte
a dirk.
" 'No, miss. It is this.' He held out a knife.
With a scream I jumped back. "

Charlotte is BOLD because she climbed the royal yard.
The tallest, scariest, hardest to climb mast upon the
Seahawk.
"I reached up, grabbed the lowest deadeye, and hauled
myself atop the rail."

Charlotte is FAIR because when she was
the cause of the death of Zachariah, she
became part of the crew so she could make
up for the death.
" 'I have come, ' I managed to say, ' to be one
of the crew.' "
