Mafutha the Elephant was only three but she could eat a whole Baobab Tree. She'd eat and eat until she got ill and then she'd eat even more still. She got bigger and bigger and bigger each day until her friends all started to say...
To get excellent results you need to highlight all the really important parts of your riddle.
Once you've highlighted them measure all that you need to inform your design.
Use your tape measures carefully and sensibly.
Pick four people in your group to measure. Two will measure first then the next two will measure again to make sure the results are accurate.
For the body take two of your group and lie flat
measure this height but just remember that...
you must minus a metre to make it just right
for Mafutha is a rather lengthy sight.
She's very round and little bit greedy
She always shouts out "Somebody feed me"
Take all of your group and huddle together
around everybody you must measure.
Do this twice and add them together.
That's Mafutha's waist size forever and ever.
In our groups we have to make Mafutha the Elephant's Head, Body and Tail. This is a big job so we need to make sure we have all got our thinking caps on.
LETS PUT OUR THINKING CAPS ON
For the tail of Mafutha make sure it’s girlie.
It could be bright & sparkly maybe even curly.
Measure 6 legs as her tail is quite long.
Add them together for a tail to shake in the song.
Mafutha is shy so let’s give her some glam.
I hope this is enough to help you with your plan.
Her head is as wide as a door side to side.
Her trunk is a shoot it looks like a slide.
It must hit the floor and reach very high.
But not quite so big that it touches the sky.
Maybe I’d measure the height of that door.
That’s plenty of length I’m absolutely sure.
Mafutha's a girl so she might like pink.
She's only three just give this a think.
Teamwork is really important here. Hold a discussion in your groups with what you think are good design ideas. Once you have come to a final idea pick one person to draw your design.
I'm going to come round and have a look at all your ideas.
