Edgar Allan Poe is Born:

January 19, 1809

David and Eliza Poe give birth to a healthy, young baby, that will soon become one of the world's most known poets and story-writers.

Poe's Foster Parents:

1811-1812

Poe's Death: October

7, 1849

After Poe's parents were gone, Poe was taken as a foster child by John and Frances Allan. John soon started hating and being cruel to Poe, while Frances was also dying of tuberculosis.

While Poe is searching for another wife, he meets up with and old friend, Elmira Royster. They plan to marry, but before they can, Poe unexpectedly dies. Possible ways he died are rabies and alcohol poisoning.

New Living Conditions:

1935

Poe is now living with his Aunt Maria and his cousin Virginia. Poe starts to love Virginia, so when she has to get sent away, he marries her. He is 26 and she is only 13.

Poe and Virginia have a very nice and pleasant marriage, but Virginia soon gets tuberculosis. She lives with it for 5 years, but then dies. Poems about Virginia are the Raven and Annabel Lee.

John Allan sends Poe off to college only to get him out of the house. However, Poe's life in college is miserable, not having any money for food, clothing, or warmth. Poe soon leaves and goes to military school under the alias of Edgar Perry.

Poe's Parents:

1810-1811

Poe's dad, David Poe, left the family when Poe was only 1 year old. Shortly after, Eliza Poe, Poe's mom, died of tuberculosis.
