Disney's Positive influences

Good morals

Lessons can be learned from many Disney movies, although some may fly over a kids' head. For instance, in Wall-E kids learn the need to keep their home, the Earth clean. Or in the Incredibles kids might start to appreciate the importance of their family.

Follow your dreams

A very common ending to Disney movies is that the main character has a happy ending through following their dreams.

For example, though some disapprove of how she did it, Ariel ends up with the humans she was so interested in meeting in the beginning. Getting your true love by not giving up also appears in many movies, like Tarzan or almost any Disney princess movie.

Stance

Entertainment

A rather overlooked but quite obvious positive influence is that the kids watching will have fun watching, and be entertained. After all, that's what Disney is about right?

Our final point that joins positive and negative is that Disney is good... and bad. You see, while watching you don't immediately notice what could be interpreted wrong, so that is positive for Disney. However, long term it can (not always) play a role in how kids see things. One example; they show that love is only between a man and a woman... Negative.

Short-term: Positive

Long-Term: Negative

Counter arguement

HEroes and sheroes

Though definitely argued against, Disney movies do portray both genders as capable heroes, though men do have more roles. Ex: Mulan for women, and Simba for men.

Though there are plenty of examples in which Disney movies can have a negative impact on kids, well, they're just kids. Chances are a kid won't grow up to be a racist, sexist adult. They don't care about the stuff people say is negative, they only want to have fun watching. And if they do pick up bad ideas from Disney, if they actually interact with people in real life at all then they would see how different reality is and likely be fine.

be yourself

Even Adults sing the songs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Disney especially makes people want to sing and that is good, right?

Although most of the Disney movies have morals that are pretty noticeable, there is one particular theme that has a strong underlying message that is to always be yourself no matter who you are and an example of this is portrayed in Aladdin.
