Why are these the top 5

Altaic originated in the Altai mountains in the Tibet region of China. The language spread throughout Asia into Mongolia and Kazakhstan and reaches as far as Azerbaijan and Turkey. Most of the present day speakers reside in and around Turkey.

These countries are the top five because they are in the areas where Altaic has diffused at the highest rate. These countries are mainly in Eastern Asia

The Altaic Language Family is believed to have began near the Altai mountains at the crossroads of south Siberia, Mongolia and China . It is believed to have stemmed from the Proto-Altaic language spoken thousands of years ago.
